Places to see in Blue Ridge Georgia
The Grumpy Old Men Brewery is a must stop resturant in Blue Ridge
Looking for some great beer, burgers and local wines?Grumpy old Men Brewery has just what you are looking for, plus some pretty amazing food as well. We decided to try another local place and wanted a burger that day. So, after asking the locals, Blue ridge brewery sounded like the spot. With it's indoor seating and outdoor seating with a dog area, everyone one is welcome. We went on a Tuesday, so it was quite. I hear, that on Friday and Saturday nights there is live local music outside!!
The menu is a nice size, not a million choices. You can tell they like to keep ingredients local and fresh, only the best! My husband ordered a burger that came with the most amazing roasted sweet potatoes! I myself had a black bean burger with guacamole, black beans and a small salad. Of course we had there in house brewed beer! They have a rotating beer menu that is sure to intrigue you, even if you're not a beer drinker. They also carry local wines from the area and a great list of cocktails!
Now, let's not forget dessert
Wow…. I went on a great day. The owners wife had made a peanut butter/chocolate swirl cake that had a peanut butter filling and chocolate icing. I wanted to order a whole one, needless to say. But I was leaving town the next day, do yourself a favor and call ahead and get one. Serves was great! The sever was so sweet to call me after we left the restaurant to let me know I couldn't get my cake, but the fact she took her time to call me later and talk to the owner about ordering it was a 5 star…
We will make sure to hit this spot every time we are in town now, cake or not their beer and burgers are out standing. The location is within walking distance to down town Blue Ridge and the atmosphere is so laid back and inviting you won't want to leave. The outdoor seating area has white lights that hang above, next to the ivy covered walls. Making it seem like a hidden gem among the town. Don't forget to peek your head around the corner in to brewery next door where they are creating there new batches every day. You can watch them as they mix and taste their new creations! The brew masters are so nice and will to answer any questions about their craft, you can tell they have a passion for their jobs.
This isn't your typically bar, so bring the family. We had several kids sitting next to us, enjoying all the dogs that the locals brought. They offer pita pizza that the kids went nuts over. Also the shrimp mac and cheese is what dreams are made of. So, after a long day of floating down the Cartacay River, stop by Blue Ridge Brewery, a 15 minute drive from Red Apple Cabin and enjoy some local crafts and peanut butter cake!!
